This forum will be your guide to using the AMI message board.  In the very near future, we'll be posting messages that explain how to register for the board, how to post new topics, how to reply, etc.

You can also post any questions you have about using the message board here and we'll try to answer them as quickly as possible.

Best of luck in this bravest and newest of worlds: the AMI Message Board!

Dakota

First thing's first, you must register in order to participate in the discussions. Right above the message board on the right you will see a place that says "Register". Click on that. You have to pick a username. As you might have seen by browsing, many of us are just using our names, so you know who it is you are talking to. But you may choose any name you'd like.

Next, pick a password. Once you submit that, it will wait for one of us moderators to approve you. Mods are the keepers of the forum. We make sure everything runs smoothly.

Once you are registered, you're ready to post!

Now that you've registered, you're ready to participate in the discussions. As you are reading, if you find a subject that you'd like to add to, all you have to do is look at the bottom of the page. You will see where it says "Reply". Click that, and a white text box will appear. You may type your response there. You can add a picture, a quote, or even a smiley face.

You can even quote someone's post, if there is something you'd like to say as a direct response to their post. In the upper right corner of their post there is an icon that looks like a piece of paper with quotation marks. Click that and the white "reply" box appears, but with their text surrounded by [/QUOTE ]

Just start typing under there to respond. Same as you would a normal reply. This is what it would look like.

So, would you like to start your own topic? That's GREAT! First you need to decide what category it goes it. General discussion, share fair, etc. Once you are there, then you can go to the bottom of the screen and hit "new topic".

It will then ask you for your message Topic, which could be "Need ideas for new snake program" or whatever, just something to give the reader an idea what your post is about. Post your message in the message section, then sit back and wait for the replies to come in.

Isn't this easy??
