I am a big fan of using pop culture in programs. I think its a great way to relate to our audience, especially being the tv generation that it is. But with all the friggin reality shows, I'm finding it hard to come up with new pop culture-based programs. If anyone has any good ones I can steal, please post here! Or maybe we can begin brainstorming and come up with something new. Things I've done:

"Whose Park is it Anyway?" (FUN!)

"Who Wants To Be a Missourian?"

"Family Feud"

"Jeopardy"

"Trials of a Snakes Life" (only pop culture-ish if you are a fan of Judge Judy or People's Court!)

"Survivor" themed programs

I think there are a couple more but I'm drawing a blank. So...can you help me?

Nice. I could do that, but with forest critters, of course.

I forgot, I do "Missouri's Most Extreme" (like the Animal Planet show) also.

I'm gonna steal yours though. You should do a dinosaur program.

The most obvious pop culture theme is CSI.  I've been wanting to do one for years.  It would be awesome to have kids investigate a "crime scene".  This would probably have to be manufactured but it could imitate real conservation agent stories or animal on animal "crime" like a fox killing a rabbit.

I've been wanting to do this, too! I think we need a brainstorming session!

"Clues" they could find could be scat or tracks, or a tuft of fur, stuff like that. This type of program has been festering in my brain for quite some time, I just haven't had a moment to sit down and try and develop it. Kathy, let's sit down at AMI sometime and share ideas.

I'd love to brainstorm with you, Jamie.  Look me up at the conference. That reminds me - I need to send my registration in!

Kathy
